Humboldt Park located on the city's near west side, home to one of Chicago's largest park's named after the famous German Alexander von Humboldt.  The park was created along with several other west side parks to create beauty.  The 207 acre park has a beach, an outdoor swimming pool, baseball diamonds, and tennis courts.  The area remains today much as it was when it originally became a part of Chicago in 1869, the neighborhood is filled with frame and brick houses, flats, courtyard buildings, and the famous graystone homes that surround the park.  Humboldt Park is home to a vast Puerto Rican population, with the Puerto Rican parade running through it's streets every June.
